Meet Dan…
My audio journey started when I was in high school and I realized listening to my clock radio and Sony Walkman wasn’t fully meeting my needs. I went to my nearby circuit city store and began listening to their expensive speakers. This experience truly dropped my jaw since I never heard anything like it before. The only problem is I didn’t have $1500 from what I heard. Later that visit I overheard another customer listening to a pair of Technics speakers that were on sale for $60 a pair. I thought that was something I could afford! So I bought them and was ecstatic about how well the dynamics and highs performed. Ever since that point, I believed you don’t need to break the bank to get good sound. This started my long journey as an audiophile until several years ago when I decided to open my own store. To this day I look for value with all the brands I represent. It’s not about the most expensive equipment yet how good of performance can I get per dollar spent.
Music is not just a hobby or a simple pleasure of mine. Music is a form of emotional release. It’s your personal therapist in your living room. When someone truly enjoys music they need to feel the emotions it’s meant to deliver.
Music has layers in almost all recordings. Unfortunately, conventional simple stereo setups are not designed to dive deep into the soundstage depth in order to hear these layers. Once all these layers are exposed, one develops an emotional connection or bond with the music. The stronger this bond, the stronger you develop an appreciation for music and how it can affect everyone around you. Once an audiophile realizes good music is not just about detail and transparency but more about emotional connection and a deep sense of internal euphoria, you have grown to the next level of nirvana. And this is how I spread the love for music.
